Today there are two official languages in Kenya : Englsih and Swahili. *Where was the documentary filmed?* In Nairobi, Kenya *What new law are they talking about?* They talked about a law which banned plastic bags. *What is the fine for refusing to obey the law?* The person who don't respect the law can be in jail four years and 38.000 USD (local money). *What is the problem with the environnement?* The plastic bags are destroying the environment. There are plastic bags everywhere. *Who's the man talking? What did he do? Was it a success?* James Wakibia. He created the movement of the action for banning plastic bags and then the governement followed so it was a success. *What were the reactions?* People resisted at first but they finally go used to it. Today they use reusable bags *His aim is to :* His aim si to have a sustainable use of plastic in Kenya. *the situation* There is plastic everywhere in the sea, in Kenya. There is more plastic than fish in sea. *The Dhow project* It's a project who want to create a boat with plastic. Dhow mean communication so they decided to do it. It's a dhow completely made of pure recycled plastic. It's the first dhow like this in the world. (a dhow is a traditional boat) *The other project* Recycle the plastic. Innovators have also used recycled plastic to create other object : jewerly (bijoux), bags, soccer balls, work of art... *What is positive about these project :* It gives to the plastic a second life so it depolluted the Kenya. The environnement is cleaner + artist can express themselves + Kenya becomes famous all over the world + they can earn money thanks to their work. To convert waste into something valuable , it takes that vision, it takes perseverance to do that. Our plastic Dhow is a message to the world. We have to tell our young kids the importance of taking care of our environment. Because they are the leaders tomorrow, it is better that we involve them and truthful to the coming generation. C'est un reportage sur ce qui se passe au niveau du plastique au Kenya, sur les lois et les projets mis en place. On y voit plusieurs intervenants, la ministre de l'environnement, un activiste, un pêcheur et un gérant de supermarché. Chacun explique sa démarche et son rapport au plastique. C'est un documentaire qui se veut positif.
